This morning in the great world of make believe, Helena's baby was getting dressed to go bye bye. They were going to the farm and it was very cold there, so Helena wrapped her up well in her playsilks (blankets). Then she put her in the stroller and asked me if I could open the door so she could go outside and go bye bye. "Not without mommy" I told her, "but perhaps you could make the farm back near daddy's office where all of your toys and farm animals are." Her reply "No" as if to say - that is not going to work mommy.
Next she told me that the baby was hungry and she got her a carrot and piece of cheese to eat in her kitchen. Helena has a nice little kitchen set up in mommy's big kitchen. In addition to her little wooden stove/sink, I made her a cardboard box fridge/cupboard. Now her food and dishes all have their own little baskets to belong in and it's ever so much easier to find things to play with them. Additionally, there is a doggie picture on the wall, hung about 2 or 3 feet off the floor. And there is even a little vase of marigolds (thanks to our kind neighbor/landlord) sitting on the back of her sink.
After getting her snack, Helena told me they were off to the farm to "see sheepies and cows and sorses and pigs too. And" she informed me "a cow meadow too and hay wagon!" Off she went, strolling her baby into the dining room. A few minutes later she was back briefly from her fantasy farm due to her baby's blanket not being tucked in properly around her in the stroller. Heaven forbid! And now she is off playing again. Obviously she decided my idea was a good one, because she is right outside the office showing her baby the (wooden)farm animals and telliing me the cows are friendly and "baby can pet them". Then "They are hungry. They need to eat. They can eat some hay. They really like hay. Baby can pet them. They are very friendly. We can have a picnic in the field. We have a field and ... they are going nite nite in the field." While she now spreads out the playsilks as fields. "They are sleeping aaaalllll day long"she tells me.
Earlier this morning, make believe land brought me chocolate bunnies in bed. How Helena ever heard of such a thing and Easter being a good 6 months away is beyond me!
But I had chocolate bunnies and a spoon to eat them with. She went off to the other side of the room to get them for me. Then she told me she was getting a real soft bunny for me to pet. She held all of this pretend stuff in her hand and gently handed the real, soft bunny to me so I could pet it. When I commented that I could see it's little wiggly nose, she snatched up some "eyes" from off the bed and put them on the bunny. Apparently the bunny must not have had them since I didn't comment ??? Not sure.
Needless to say, we are enjoying her vivid imagination. At present, the baby is getting well covered again in her stroller. "It is raining out. It is very very raining out" Helena tells me. I need to go because they are going bye bye to another farm and I am needed for a goodbye kiss and hug for both of them!

Country Days Begin
We are all enjoying life at our "new" house in the country. The first few days Helena would say "How about we go back home now" and I'd reply "This IS our home". Then she'd say "Well, how about we go back to the apt?" After a few days she would say "How about we go back home now? and then add "This IS our home".
She is really enjoying playing outside every day and espec loves her swing and sandbox and walks in the woods. She also likes watching the birds at our feeder as well as filling the feeder for them and emptying the compost into the pile. Yesterday morning we went out to find a salamander resting in her barn boots. We made him a temporary shelter in a jar with air holes and let him go later after her friends who had come to play all got to pet him.

Expressions
A few of Helena's favorite expresssions lately: (accent on the bold and said very dramatically)
OH yeah! When asked if she wants to do/eat something fun.
O-HO! When she realizes something.
And my favorite... OwuH NO! when she doesn't like something. Like "It's time for a nap (which she's usually ok with) she will reply "Owuh No!! in the most melodramatic, overdramatized way. Cracks me up!
Another funny, We were in church and she was so good and quiet thru the entire service. Then at the end when the pastor was praying she shouted out very loudly and dramatically "AUnt Kt. "

More Stories
Maybe Helena will be a writer when she grows up. Whatever she chooses will surely be enhanced by her beautiful imagination. It amazes me how she comes up with some of these things.
The other day she told me about a horsey who lived in the barn and a goat. The goat looked out the window. He couldn't come out because he was hurt. Then a big bear came and said "Roar" and the sheep was scared. But STarby (our dog) smashed it with his paw (the bear, not the sheep.)
Another day she told Joe. "I see a birdie outside. I see a horsey." Joe commented that he didn't see a horse. "It's walking in the road" she replied. "It has long legs. I can't walk on the horsey. Now the horsey has short legs. Horseys name is Caballo" (spanish for horse).
Here is what she is singing as I type: "I'm a going a be a happy little girl soon. Every day and night I'm going a be a happy little girl soon!" She sings it in the most jubilant way at the top of her lungs.

Our Happy Little Girl
Helena is going around this morning saying "I'm boing boing boing happy!" Just something silly she made up.
Then from the basement where I was doing laundry I hear her singing. "I'm a happy girl day/night. I'm a happy little girl. I'm a happy girl day night!" at the top of her lungs. Another made up thing...
So cute!
