Bonk!

Daddy has said "punk" a few times jokingly when Helena has snatched food off of his plate or maybe even to a bad driver on the road.

Bonk rhymes with punk in Helena's pronunciation and is what she thinks Daddy is saying.

It is also what she said under her breathe with a glare directed at 2 people who had said hello to her. Fortunately they had passed from hearing!

Daddy laughed hyserically - and hoped she wouldn't say it again. Mommy wasn't sure if she was more shocked or horrified.

I Love Strawberries!!

What do you like about strawberry picking? Picking them
What do you do with them after you pick them? I *eat* them!!
Why do you like strawberries? Because I like them because they have juice in them
What do they taste like? Nummy!! (pauses) It tastes like a doggie bone (with lots of giggles)
What color are strawberries? Red
What color are they when they are not ripe? Pink and orange and blue (She was very good about picking only ripe ones!!)

Daisy Dancer

Each day Helena picks me daisies. This evening I got a song and dance with them too!

Bedtime Snack

Helena *love* to have a bedtime snack each evening before bed. Last nights was enjoyed outside while Daddy and I did a bit of end of the day gardening. She thought it was an especially yummy snack: sliced bananas and fresh strawberries with some fresh raw milk.

First Popsicle

Helena was so excited to have a popsicle even tho she wasn't quite sure what one was. She decided they were indeed very yummy! We made them with crushed watermelon. Mmm....

Me and My Friend Ruby

This is my little friend Ruby; she's only 9 months, but I have fun with her anyway. She liked coming in my pool and didn't mind at all when I poured water on her. Later on, we played peek-a-boo together.

My New Wading Pool

Yesterday Mommy and Daddy got me a wading pool. They carried it home on the roof of the car, going very slowly over the back country roads with Mommy hanging on to one side out the window and Daddy the other. We dropped it off at home and ran a few more errands. On the way home, Mommy told me that if i went night-night in the car, I didn't need to take a nap at home and could play in my pool. I held *oh* so still and closed my little eyes. After a while, Daddy peeked back and said "She's asleep". But then a few seconds later I piped up "Mommy, I'm being such a good girl sleeping!" For some reason, Mommy and Daddy thought it was all funny. At least I didn't have to take a nap when I got home! (mommy just didn't know how to explain that she wasn't *really* sleeping).

I loved stomping and splashing and falling in the cold water!
